Khujand

Founded by Alexander the Great as Alexandria Eschate 2,500 years ago, Khujand is Tajikistan's second city in the fertile Fergana Valley. It boasts the country's largest bazaar (Payshanba), a 2,500-year-old fortress, and the Sheikh Muslikhiddin Mausoleum. Authentic atmosphere far from mass tourism.
