A revolution for American tourism
Uzbekistan's president signed a decree on November 3, 2025, granting 30-day visa-free access to all U.S. citizens starting January 1, 2026. Previously, only Americans aged 55 and older enjoyed this benefit. This measure is part of expanding the visa-free regime to 94 countries.
Two airlines now connect New York to Tashkent
Uzbekistan Airways already operates 5 weekly flights on the Tashkent–New York JFK route. In May 2026, Qanot Sharq will launch twice-weekly service on the same route using A330-200 aircraft. Practical barriers to visiting the Silk Road have never been lower.
94 countries visa-free
Uzbekistan's visa-free regime now covers 94 countries, including China (since June 2025), the United States (since January 2026), and all EU nations. Uzbekistan welcomed 11.7 million visitors in 2025 — a historic record — and targets 15 million by 2030.
